Join us for a great time
at the 3rd annual Louisville Underpants Run! This year we are raising
funds for The Blazeman Foundation for ALS.
Jon "Blazeman"
Blais, a triathlete who was diagnosed with ALS (more commonly known
as Lou Gehrig's disease) in 2005 embarked on competing at the Ironman
World Championships in Kona, Hawaii. Even though the disease had already
rendered his hands nearly useless, Jon went on to finish that race
and became the only person with ALS ever to do so. A short year later
in 2006 Jon was back in Kona, this time confined to a wheelchair.
He was there to cheer for Brian Breen, who had devoted his race to
the war on ALS. In May of 2007, 2 short years after his diagnosis,
this deadly disease that no one escapes, claimed Jon's life. So we
are honored to raise money and awareness for their cause.
Bring all your friends
and join us on August, 27th at 11:00 am at The Belle of Louisville
landing (4th St and Bingham Way behind the Galt House Hotel) for a
"grueling" 1.5 mile run (or walk) in YOUR UNDERPANTS! Extra
clothing you bring to the run start will be safeguarded while you
run.
Use your imagination and
take home one of our "Highly sought-after" awards. We'll
be judging for, Best Underpants, Biggest Team Participation, Most
Colorful, and Most Creative.
So please come out and
have a great time with us. The only cost to participate is a donation,
large or small, it's your choice. All we ask is that you give from
the heart and help us wage war on ALS. "Decision Must Be Instant...Commitment
Must Be Total." -blazeman
